MH-17 Tragedy, Numbers and Existence of Accidental Events – Numbers are closely related to our everyday life. For Norwegian mythology 9 is a sacred number. Meanwhile, number 3 is considered a good number in Sweden. While the number 4 is believed to be a lucky number in the land of Bavaria with a clover leaf symbol which has 4 leaves.

The number 3 itself is a number that is considered perfect because it relates to the trinity of the Bible, namely father, son and holy spirit.

The number 13 is actually believed to be the lucky number in Italy and the unlucky number is the number 17. As for the Spanish number 15 is the lucky number. The number 8 is considered a lucky number because the kanji for 8 and the kanji for prosperity is done with the same sound, namely hachi.

For Japanese residents the number 4 is an unlucky number because the pronunciation is the same as death, that is, the number 4 is an unlucky number for Japanese residents because it is pronounced the same as death, which is “shi”.

Reflecting on that, there is also an incident involving the number 7. While many people were busy looking for causes and also observing reports of incidents of Malaysia airlines MH-17, many also observed the uniqueness of the incident.

The number of 7 in this incident was peeled away via a tweet from CJ Chivers. It is suspected that this plane crashed because it was shot at the Russian Ukrainian border. Chivers tweeted that during the MH-17 incident, the plane, a Boeing 777, made its first flight on July 17, 1997.

The MH17 was produced in July 1997 and was in service for 17 years. The aircraft’s flight hours record up to 75,322 hours and a total of 11,434 cycles. The aircraft’s communication system is functioning normally with a seating capacity of 282.
